Training Programs

Seattle UPRT offers three primary training programs, each of which is customizable to a specific student’s need. Because this is lifesaving training, we don’t charge by the hour; instead, all of Seattle UPRT’s programs are flat fees. Sure, we recognize some students will take more time, and others less. Importantly, we care more about building your confidence and competence than money. Besides, if we cared about money, we certainly wouldn’t run a flight school.

UPRT Program
One Day $1,750.00 <or>
Two Days $2,250.00

Building upon the most basic of upsets (uncoordinated stalls leading to spins), our one- and two-day UPRT programs are flexible based on your schedule.

Each day involves three hours of one-on-one ground instruction, and two separate sorties in the airplane, typically about 50 minutes each. If you need an additional sortie, there’s no extra cost.

Included in the Seattle UPRT Program are ground instruction, flight instruction, video footage of your flight, all program materials, and we’ll even give you a cool polo shirt.

Spin Endorsement
One Day $850.00

Principally for those pursuing a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating, Seattle UPRT offers a generous discount to would-be flight instructors.

The UPRT program meets all the requirements of FAR § 61.183(i)(1) and (2) and provides you the confidence to handle unintentional spins by an uncoordinated student.

Seattle UPRT’s spin endorsement is far more than a sign off in a logbook. The spin course involves one to two hours of one-on-one instruction, and up to two sorties.

Tailwheel Checkout
Multiple Days $2,500.00

Having relationship problems with the runway centerline? Earning your endorsement through Seattle UPRT is like earning your Degree in the Yaw Axis.

A tailwheel endorsement helps unlearn bad habits, teaches you to keep the ball centered, and aids in complete understanding of the nuances of adverse yaw and P-factor.

While typically a 4-6 hours of flight training, competence takes more, and confidence even more. If you need more time, it’s built into our tailwheel program.

Pre-Requisites

In order to be a customer of Seattle UPRT, you must be at least a currently certificated private pilot, or a post-solo student pilot enrolled in a Part 61 or 141 Flight Training Program. Student pilots interested in Seattle UPRT require instructor recommendation.
